Kit Symons is a former professional footballer and current coach and pundit. A defender, during his playing career Kit made a total of 436 appearances for clubs including Portsmouth, Manchester City, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Kit began his career at Portsmouth, making 160 appearances and scoring 10 goals. In 1992 Kit helped Portsmouth reach the FA Cup Semi-Final and was the only Portsmouth player to score in the penalty shoot out against Liverpool. Kit left Portsmouth for Manchester City in 1995 for a fee of £1.2million. He enjoyed a successful spell with City making 124 appearances before moving to Fulham. Kit spent three seasons at Fulham making 102 appearances and scoring 13 goals. In 2001 Kit signed to Crystal Palace where he would retire after 49 appearances for the Eagles. During his playing career Kit won 36 caps for Wales and scored twice. He made his last international appearance in 2001 in a game against Belarus.
Kit began his coaching career while still playing for Crystal Palace taking on the role of player/coach and then becoming a full time member of the coaching staff once he had retired. In 2003 Kit was named the caretaker manager until Iain Dowie appointment when he became assistant manager and then manager of the reserve team. In 2006 following Dowie's departure and Peter Taylor being named manager Kit took on the role of first team coach. After Taylor was dismissed Kit was again named caretaker manager for a brief period until Neil Warnock's arrival. In 2008 Kit left Palace and joined Colchester United as assistant manager and then caretaker manager replacing Geraint Williams. Kit left Colchester United in 2009 and is currently senior scout and academy coach at former club Fulham.
